FOR PARENTS

Welcome Parents and Caregivers!

We hope you find our free early-learning literacy resources to be helpful.

You Are Your Child’s First and Most Important Teacher

Below are some early learning resources that you can download to help you support your child’s journey toward becoming a reader and a lifelong learner.

Little by Little Program Handouts

The Little by Little Program handouts are categorized by age and cover a range of topics, such as why reading to your child is important, key child development milestones, and household safety tips. They come in both English and Spanish.

Other Early Literacy Resources and Programs

The Little by Little Program is not yet available in all WIC centers. Here are some other resources you can access to help build early literacy practices with your child.

Reach out and Read – Early literacy program available at some pediatric offices

Imagination Library – Book distribution program available in some U.S. locations

Local Public Library – Enter your zip code into the search bar to see public libraries near you

Find Your Closest WIC center

If you want to apply for WIC services, the first step is to find the closest WIC center to you. Find your closest local WIC center here or check out your state’s WIC website. You can also call the toll-free number for your state’s WIC agency.  When you call to set up an appointment to apply for WIC benefits, someone will tell you what to bring with you.

Some of Our Favorite Books

Since 2012, the Little by Little Program has distributed more than 1,100,000 free high-quality books to children and their parents. We are pleased to share with you some of our favorite book titles from both our English and Spanish/bilingual book selections. We hope you enjoy them as much as our program participants do.
