Led by PHFE WIC and Heluna Health, the Little by Little Program team represents a partnership of local WIC agencies in Los Angeles County and beyond.
Equalizing and Advancing Early Literacy Opportunities for Young Children
With the passion and support of WIC staff, the Little by Little Program’s mission is to close the opportunity gap so that young children and families from communities that lack investment have the support and resources they need to enter school ready to learn and succeed in life. The Little by Little Program works to enhance WIC centers so that they are seen as trusted “learning places” by the staff and families who visit them.
Dignity
To provide parents, other caregivers, infants, and children with early literacy resources and support in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
Strength-Based
To focus on the self-determination, resourcefulness, and resilience of families receiving Little by Little Program services and supports.
Community
To build a sense of community and trust with our families that endure over successive years of program engagement, reaching all young children in their family.
